The Fuel Fund of Maryland is a non-profit that provides at-risk and low-income families and seniors with financial and educational support to access and sustain energy needs, serving nearly 9,000 Marylanders annually.
The Problem
The organization operates with a lean team that provides incredible services to the people they support, and develop new programs to address evolving needs of their clients.
With one particular new, complex program, the team struggled to define it with concise messaging. The marketing and development team recognized the new to bring in outside counsel to help them collaborate and build consensus to create messaging to effectively promote the new program to its client base.
Our Solution
C3 Visionary Strategies conducted a two-hour workshop with the Executive Director, Director of Development and Marketing, as well as members of the education, programs and outreach teams.
The facilitated workshop encouraged big ideas, diverse perspectives and creative communication. Using two walls of white boards, and interactive activities, the workshop concluded with a unified message accepted by all departments to be used effectively with their clients and stakeholders including board members and funders.
At the conclusion of the workshop, C3 provided The Fuel Fund of Maryland with a vision statement for the program along with talking points that could be used with a wide range of clients and stakeholders for program engagement and promotion.
